Knock! Knock! Who’s there?…
MY STORY –
A few years ago I experienced a troubling time in my life (some of you can relate) – you know… Knock! Knock! Who’s there?… Hi, my name is REALITY. The REAL world!
Actually, I don’t enjoy discussing this, but… Truth-Be-Told!
After 13 long and hard years and at a very ripe “ole” age, I became jobless. In other word, terminated from my job. Companies downsizing was an ongoing trend. But never in a hundred years did I imagine it happening to me. Very unexpected, to say the least! 🙁
So glad though, that three or four years prior I’d been studying and learning about internet marketing and working from home online… using the Internet. I had ventured into a few programs, and earned a few dollars here and there. But far from the “fire your boss” type income. This was solid evidence that, yes, you can generate income online… and the concept of “working from home” is very doable. That is, as long as you stay consistent and focused on your goals.
My life, I guess I could say at the time, was moderate – (because of a good job – making a steady pay check). But this abrupt change turned into a very chaotic situation. I thought hard about my life and family and in what direction I was going next. Forced into making quick and hopefully intelligent decisions wasn’t such a pleasant feeling. Not at all!
The Plan-B thing… What?
I hadn’t at the time gotten a firm grip on this. Sure, I’ve heard and read about it, but not yet incorporated it as my go-to backup plan. But it didn’t take long. I soon started evaluating who I (really) was. Doing so uncovered a huge amount of things I still wanted and needed to do. Deciding on what path to choose, with such a troubling dilemma, this became my utmost focus.
The most important thing… was to in some way try and establish a sustainable income working from home online. And how I could then “pay-it-forward” by helping others who have a similar situation.
The fact of the matter is, I know there are thousands of people who dread their 9 to 5 lifestyle… especially, now days!
This idea of how to create your own income online was very appealing to me and something I’d always had interest in. But like most people, I was stuck in the daily grind and had no clue where to start or what was even legit. Looked like everything I bought into was another dead end no matter how good it seemed!
It’s kind of embarrassing how many times I fell for the next ‘shiny object’ the gurus were pitching. I guess I wanted to believe it could work or something. And, yes, some of them do. Meanwhile, I kept on searching. This left me trying more products. Joining another ‘biz op’, reading more books and anything else I could get my hands on. The worst part was, using money I wasn’t suppose to. Which lead to falling further behind on my normal recurring expenses.
Struggling? Well, of course. I was in this sea of make-money online information with no solid idea or plan. All I had at that point was a dream and a relentless desire to succeed. Not to mention a fierce determination that nothing was going to stop me. Period!
But now… Every day when I wake up there’s a feeling of great gratitude. So much I have learned and accomplished on this unique venture. And “being my own boss” (not quite there just yet), and to live and work in the new paradigm, coined… The “laptop lifestyle” is that “glimmer” of light, finally coming into view. 🙂
